Bob Bailey workshop learning - Part 2
1. Think about things you could train.
2. Plan how to train them. Be detailed. Identify likely problems and possible solutions.
3. Break down complex behaviours into simple ones.
4. Define new behaviour for one training session in ONE sentence. (Not a compound sentence full of ANDs.) If you can't define your goal in one sentence, it's too complex for one training session.
5. A training session might last only 30 seconds or a minute.
6. The next session might have the same goal or might not, but if you think the dog is ready for the next step and you can't define the next step. STOP training until you can.
7. If a training session doesn't go as planned, be ready to adapt or stop, put the dog away, rethink, replan, redo.
